FamilyNet was <\/em>launched in 1993 as a pilot program at the Michael Unit (Texas Department of Criminal Justice) near Palestine with the help of Chaplain Bill Brewer. Wives and children were invited to join with incarcerated husbands in a special weekend of study over several weeks. The Children’s Edition <\/em>of NLB was utilized with the children as students. At the same time, parents and spouses gained from the adult curriculum. Many were learning for the first time <\/em>how to form a strong and godly bond in marriage and to implement successful parenting techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n
